After learning she needed to have a stem cell transplant to treat her Multiple sclerosis Cathleen came to Florida Fertility Institute. Most people who have stem cell transplants become infertile. This is not caused by the cells that are transplanted, but rather by the high doses of chemo and/or radiation therapy used. These treatments affect both normal and abnormal cells, and often damage reproductive organs causing infertility.

Cathleen consulted with Dr. Mark Sanchez, she then decided it was incredibly important for her to preserve her future fertility by oocyte cryopreservation. Cathleen is excited about her future knowing that when she is ready she will be able to start her family.

As Cathleen continues her journey to recovery she will have peace of mind knowing that her dream of starting a family will be attainable thanks to her oncofertility treatment at Florida Fertility Institute.
