The Physicians

Edward Zbella, M.D., F.A.C.O.G, F.AC.S.

Dr. Zbella was born in Chicago, Illinois, and attended college at Benedictine University with an honors degree in biochemistry. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois in 1980 and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital. After completing his residency, Dr. Zbella participated in a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in 1986.

Dr. Zbella is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and subspecialty certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Dr. Zbella is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricans and Gynecologists and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is the Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Bayfront Medical Center's residency program in obstetrics and gynecology, and is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida. His accomplished surgical skills have allowed him to instruct microsurgical technique to physicians in training.

He is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, The American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists, the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology, and the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology.

Dr. Zbella has published numerous scientific articles in major medical journals and has served as a reviewer for journals related to gynecology and infertility. He has written chapters in several medical text books and has lectured nationally at numerous meetings and seminars. Dr. Zbella continues to participate in clinical research with major pharmaceutical companies.

Honors include being chosen for inclusion in: America's Best Doctors, Guide to America's Top Obstetricians & Gynecologists, and The Consumers Guide to Top Doctors.

Dr. Zbella is dedicated to assisting couples achieve the goal of having children through clinical care, research, and education. Dr. Zbella is married and has three very active children.

Mark D. Sanchez, M.D.

Dr. Sanchez graduated from the University of South Florida in 1991 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. He subsequently attended the University of Florida College of Medicine, and graduated in 1995 with a Doctorate in Medicine. From 1995 to 1999 Dr. Sanchez performed his Internship and Residency at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he received several honors and awards including outstanding laparoscopic surgeon. Following his residency, Dr. Sanchez completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of South Florida where he presently serves as an Instructor.

Dr. Sanchez is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and subspecialty certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.  He is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists. Dr. Sanchez remains active in the education of residents in training, is married and has one child.

The Scientists

Kelvin L. Fry, B.SC.
Laboratory Manager

Kelvin Fry brings over twelve years of experience in human andrology and embryology laboratory experience to the Florida Fertility Institute. He began working with the Institute in January, 2000. He acquired his complex training in embryology from some of the largest IVF clinics in the United States (Fairfax Genetics and IVF, IVF America-Long Island and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation). Prior to joining Florida Fertility Institute, Kelvin had started and managed two new IVF laboratories. He oversees a quality assurance program in the IVF laboratory including the training of embryologists in IVF techniques specializing in micromanipulation. Kelvin received his Bachelors degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene College. He is married and has three children.

 

 

 

Seth M. O’Gradney, B.S.

Embryologist/Andrologist

 

Seth O’Gradney joined the Florida Fertility Institute in February of 2004 and received his training in embryology and andrology from several senior embryologists in the field of IVF.  He received his undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.  While attending St. Ambrose, Seth concentrated his studies in biochemistry and vertebrate zoology and graduated with honors in 2001.  After graduating, Seth married his college sweetheart Cristina.  They currently reside in St. Petersburg and have one child.

 

The IVF Coordinators

Sherry Reinhardt, R.N.

IVF Coordinator

 

Sherry Reinhardt is a native of the Tampa Bay area.  She attended Hillsborough Community College and went on to earn an associate’s degree in Nursing in 1996.  Sherry has practiced in acute care environments which include: NICU, pediatric dialysis, adult dialysis and acute treatments at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center.  In 2000 she required IVF and became a patient of Florida Fertility Institute.  This was a career changing decision.  Since that time she has attended seminars in IVF.  Sherry is married and 3 or her 5 children are from the Florida Fertility Institute.

 

 

Christine Poindexter

IVF Coordinator

Christine Poindexter was born in Tampa and grew up in Ybor City.  She started working at The University of South Florida in 1991.  While at The University of South Florida Christine worked with the Obstetrics & Gynecology departments of: Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecology Oncology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.  In the summer of 1996, Christine joined Florida Fertility Institute working directly with ovulation induction patients.  In 2003 she joined the IVF department.  Christine continues her education at St. Petersburg College and attends annual IVF and infertility seminars.

Medical Assistant

Beth Brownley, R.M.A.

 

Beth Brownley is a native of Florida and graduated in 1987 from Florida College.  She has nineteen years experience in high risk obstetrics & reproductive medicine.  Beth received her training in these specialties through the University Of South Florida Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and joined the Florida Fertility Institute in 1997.  Beth feels this is a privileged position working with couples to help make their dreams come true.  She also is a licensed Doula and has always worked in women’s health.
