LUPRON: 14 Day Patient Administration Kit

The box will contain: Lupron, insulin syringes, and Alcohol pads.

NOTE: You may need to purchase additional insulin needles. You can purchase them at any pharmacy. You should not need a prescription. Ask for insulin needles 1/2 cc.

  1. NO Mixing ... Pull the plunger of the syringe to the desired mark. Insert the needle into the rubber stopper (this is the top of the Lupron bottle). Push the air into the bottle. Turn the bottle up-side-down and pull the plunger back to the desired mark. You are now ready to administer the medication.
  2. Injecting ... With one hand, support the top of the thigh. Using your index finger and thumb, slightly pinch the top of the thigh at the injection site. Cleanse the site with alcohol. With a quick, swift movement of the wrist, insert the needle into the thigh and push in on the plunger. Wait 2 seconds then remove the needle quickly and apply pressure with a tissue.

NOTE:

  1. Lupron should be stored in the refrigerator or in a cool, dry environment away from heat and humidity.
  2. A small amount of blood at the injection site is NORMAL. Applying pressure to the site (after administering the shot) will stop the bleeding.
  3. Bruising may occur. Although this is normal, it is recommended that you alternate from thigh to thigh.
  4. Lupron once a day = administer in the AM between 6am - 10am
  5. Lupron twice a day = between 6am - 10am & 6pm - 10pm
  6. Your last Lupron injection will be the morning of the day that you are instructed to take the HCG. NO Lupron after the HCG Injection.
  7. Lupron injection can be given ANYWHERE within the diamond...
