Male Infertility / ICSI

At Florida Fertility Institute one of the types of infertility we manage is male factor infertility. Since 1994 the medical breakthrough of intracystoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) has allowed couples to conceive where otherwise it would have not been possible. ICSI is currently the most successful procedure to treat male infertility. During ICSI, a single sperm is injected directly into an egg to achieve fertilization.

Below is shown the sequence leading to the formation of an embryo from the ICSI procedure (click pictures to enlarge).

At FFI, we go further than many infertility practices. One example is our reproductive urology affiliation. This allows patients with male factor infertility to undergo microepididimal sperm aspiration (MESA), and testicular sperm extraction (TESE), when necessary. These procedures in combination with ICSI can produce outstanding results.
