Florida Fertility Institute Patient Instructions: IM Injection
Back to Instructions

IVF - Stimulation Medication Mixing
  1. MIX ... with black (22g 11/2 in needle)
  2. GIVE ... with blue (25g 11/2 in needle)
  3. ALWAYS MIX WITH 1CC (ml) OF LIQUID
Example:

If you are told to take 1 Humagon with 1 Metrodin

This would equal a total of 2 POWDERS & 2 LIQUIDS.

ONLY using 1cc from one of the liquids, mix ALL the Stim. Meds. This is accomplished by DRAWING-UP 1cc of liquid into the syringe --- then insert the 1cc of liquid into the first powder (it does not matter which powder you mix first). Now draw-up the mixture and place it into the second powder ? THREE POWDERS OR MORE, continue this process until all the powders are mixed together in the 1cc of liquid.

Remember: each of the Stimulation Medications will have a diluent (liquid), you will not need all of the liquids.
